Payment and Refund Policy
This Payment and Refund Policy was last updated on 18 September 2026.
Scope of This Policy
This policy applies to all purchases of Course A, the comprehensive sound and stage production guide offered by echostarix. The course covers practical instruction in audio echo control, microphone setup techniques, camera coordination during live recordings, and complete workflows for studio shows. It governs transactions made through the commercial website by customers located in the United Kingdom. The policy covers both one-time purchases and any subscription-based access options where available. It does not extend to third-party services or physical goods purchased separately from the course materials.
Prices, Currencies, Taxes and Additional Charges
All prices displayed on the website are in British Pounds Sterling. Value Added Tax at the prevailing UK rate is included in the displayed price where applicable under UK tax law. No hidden fees are added at checkout beyond those clearly stated during the purchase process. Customers remain responsible for any currency conversion charges imposed by their payment provider or bank when paying from outside the UK. Promotional discounts are applied automatically where eligible and are subject to the terms displayed at the time of offer.
Accepted Payment Methods, Authorisation and Security
Payments are accepted via major credit and debit cards together with other secure online payment gateways commonly used in the United Kingdom. Each transaction undergoes authorisation through the chosen payment processor before the order is confirmed. echostarix does not store full card details on its systems. All payment data is handled by certified third-party processors that comply with current UK data protection standards including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Customers receive an automated confirmation once payment has been successfully authorised.
Order Confirmation and Contract Formation
A binding contract is formed only after the customer receives an order confirmation email following successful payment. This email summarises the purchased course access, price paid and expected delivery of login credentials. Until this confirmation is sent, no contract exists and any amounts shown during browsing remain an invitation to treat. Customers are advised to retain the confirmation email for their records as it forms part of the contractual documentation.
Cancellation Rights and Applicable Periods
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, UK customers have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of contract formation during which they may cancel without providing a reason. For digital content such as Course A, cancellation rights may end earlier if the customer begins downloading or streaming the materials and expressly consents to immediate performance. Clear instructions on exercising cancellation rights are provided in the confirmation email.
Refund Eligibility, Exclusions and Non-Refundable Items
Refunds are available where the customer exercises statutory cancellation rights within the permitted period or where the course fails to meet the description provided at the point of sale. Refunds are not granted for change of mind after the customer has accessed substantial portions of the digital content or after the 14-day period has expired. Promotional bundles, gift vouchers and any customised elements are generally non-refundable once delivered. Technical issues caused by the customer's own equipment or internet connection do not qualify for refund.
Step-by-Step Procedure to Request a Refund
To request a refund, the customer must email [email protected] within the applicable time limit, providing their full name, order number, date of purchase and a clear statement of the reason for the request. Supporting evidence such as screenshots of access problems may be requested. Requests received outside the 14-day period or without the required order details will be declined. echostarix acknowledges receipt of refund requests within two working days.
Inspection, Approval, Rejection and Notification of the Refund Decision
Each refund request is reviewed against the policy criteria. echostarix may inspect usage logs to confirm whether substantial course content has been accessed. Customers are notified of the decision by email within ten working days of receipt of a complete request. If approved, the refund is processed promptly. If rejected, the email explains the specific reason and outlines any available appeal route through the company's complaints procedure.
Refund Method, Processing Time and Receipt of Funds
Approved refunds are returned using the original payment method. Processing typically takes between five and ten working days after approval, although the customer's bank or card issuer may require additional time to credit the account. Customers are advised to check their statements regularly. No cash refunds are issued under any circumstances.
Special Rules for Digital Content, Subscriptions and Promotional Offers
Because Course A consists of digital content, the right to cancel ends as soon as the customer begins accessing the materials after giving explicit consent to immediate performance. Subscription renewals are processed automatically unless cancelled at least seven days before the renewal date. Promotional trial periods convert to paid subscriptions automatically unless cancelled before the trial ends. Refunds for subscriptions are calculated on a pro-rata basis only where the customer has not yet accessed content beyond the initial trial.
Failed Payments, Duplicate Charges, Chargebacks and Suspected Fraud
Failed payments are retried once automatically; customers receive notification and are invited to update their payment details. Duplicate charges are investigated and refunded within five working days once verified. Chargeback requests are handled in accordance with card scheme rules while protecting the company's legitimate interests. Any suspected fraudulent activity results in immediate account suspension pending investigation, with refunds issued only after verification that the original transaction was unauthorised.
Mandatory Consumer Rights That Cannot Be Excluded
Nothing in this policy affects the customer's statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 or the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008. These rights include remedies for goods or digital content that are not of satisfactory quality, not as described or not fit for purpose. echostarix does not seek to exclude or limit these rights in any way.
